What is the difference between Physical Therapy, Trigger Point Dry Needling, Yoga Sessions, and Wellness/Health Coaching Visits?

Physical Therapy and Trigger Point Dry Needling are defined as skilled care involving the treatment of pain or dysfunction related to an injury. It can be provided in-person and virtually to people physically located in Colorado. Yoga Sessions, Exercise Sessions, and Health Coaching/Wellness Visits can be provided to people in-person and virtually to people anywhere in the US or the world.

  • Yoga Sessions can be a structured, private class that may include breath work, dynamic warm up, asana flow and savasana. Alternatively, Yoga Sessions can consist of pose break-down and progression to manage an injury or to simply elevate your asana practice.
  • Exercise Programs are designed for recreational and competitive athletes of any age seeking assistance for injury prevention, strength gains, cardio improvement, etc. to work towards targeted exercise and sport goals.
  • Health Coaching/Wellness Visits are designed for people of any age looking to improve their quality of life in a holistic way. This may include an exercise program, healthy eating, stress management, sleep habits, headache/pain patterns and triggers, and/or lifestyle changes. Wellness can include "Care Coordination", or help navigating the complex healthcare system.

How do virtual visits work?

Virtual visits are performed over Google, Zoom or A detailed description on how to connect will be provided prior to your appointment. Telehealth has been used in medicine for many years; research has shown that it is effective, safe and convenient.

How do I pay?

Options to pay for virtual visits include: PayPal or credit card via Square. HSA/FSA can be used for physical therapy services. To use HSA/FSA for exercise programs, yoga and wellness, a medical diagnosis from your doctor is needed. Physio, Yoga & Wellness is not in-network with any insurance provider for physical therapy services. If you wish to submit claims to your insurance company, a detailed superbill will be provided.

Do I need a doctor's prescription for Physical Therapy?

You do not need a doctor's prescription to receive Physical Therapy. Colorado is a Direct Access state, which means you can receive immediate treatment from a physical therapist without seeing a physician first. This allows you to save time and money. As Doctors of Physical Therapy, we are qualified to recognize when a patient exhibits symptoms outside of the scope and expertise of physical therapy. If deemed necessary, we are more than happy to refer you to a physician or additional health care provider.

Can I use my insurance?

Yoga Sessions, Exercise Programs and Health Coaching/Wellness Visits are typically not covered by insurance. For Physical Therapy Services, we are not in-network with any insurance. This allows us to provide the highest level of care without restrictions typically imposed by insurance companies. Depending on your insurance, self-pay could be less than seeing an in-network provider. Most insurances will reimburse you at out-of-network rates (~40-60%). A detailed superbill will be provided for you to submit directly to your insurance company. We know that maneuvering through your benefits can be confusing; we’re here to help!

How many visits will I need?

It depends on your goals. Each session provides education, resources and empowerment. We will effectively and efficiently work towards your short-term and long-term goals. If you are looking for structure, accountability and/or have multiple goals, you may require more visits. We will be here to provide as many visits as you need! If you are looking for one, or minimal sessions to develop a plan to independently implement, we are here to help you!

Is Physio, Yoga & Wellness right for me?

Our aim is to help people find their healthiest and happiest life! Sessions are client directed based on your specific short-term and long-term goals. We understand that there is a lot of information on the internet - some of it is good, some of it is not so good (or just isn't appropriate for you!). Through training and experience, we develop client specific plans based on your unique injury history, activity level, body and goals. Do you communicate with my doctor?

Yes! Our goal is to provide the best care possible to all clients, which may include discussion with your physician. Any information shared with your providers will require a written release per HIPAA guidelines.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

We understand that life happens! We strive to be understanding and as flexible as possible. That is why our cancellation/no-show policy results in no charge if appointments are cancelled with 24 hours or more notice. If a scheduled appointment is cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment time, a 50% visit charge will occur. "No Shows" for appointments will incur a full visit charge.

Can I use my HSA/FSA?

Yes! For physical therapy services you can always use your HSA or FSA. For exercise programs, yoga and wellness you will need a medical diagnosis from your doctor to use your HSA or FSA.
